Nestled impressively in the heart of Soho, this iconic club is renowned for its stunning contemporary art collection. The Gennaro Room’s striking, full-sized bar, is companion to jovial discussions. The name is an homage to the history of the building itself – it had been a restaurant since 1880 but was perhaps most famous as Gennaro’s. Here such luminaries as the Kings of Greece, Yugoslavia and Siam dined alongside Caruso and Dame Nellie Melba. Gennaro would greet his guests at the door and present each female diner with a red rose.
The dazzling menu hails from superstar chef Mark Hix, who was almost single-handedly responsible for putting modern British cooking on the map. Hix concentrates on British food at best, supplementing simple club food that everyone can relate to, like the club’s famous shepherd’s pie, with his own signature dishes.
We’re committed to supporting our society and environment. When you attend a Change Makers Club event, we pledge to neutralise your carbon footprint. To offset your travel or energy usage we will plant a tree via One Tree Planted. Once mature, the average tree has a net absorption of 30 kg of CO2 per year, which equates to 227 miles of travel by car or 96 hours of office usage. You can see our maths here.
